What is the Semantic Web?

A man named John Markoff wrote a piece for The New York Times that in 2006, rather than a heated debate, one that is even more moves. He suggested that already in the scheme of things, but certainly not the first time will be the term "Web 3.0" is used to the Internet for the next phase of development, which would be predicted by a profusion of "intelligent applications to be classified as to describe. " Not like a clay-10-years on a ride, but: "We are almost there?"

No, thereBut it suspended the scheme in number - if you did, is transmitted on the progress in Web 2.6 or something PEG - as is the fact that the evolution of any kind which is not precise and predictable. Evolution is gradual for the most part, but "suspended", as is well-known paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould noted that occasional periods of rapid change. In this case, there was a flood of advances that have been leveled a bit 'weakening, but a key technology that enablesstill emerging Semantic Web.

What's in a name (or number)?

Of course, the Web into a new era with most of these applications, "smart" for power and will be progressed by adding more semantics to the raw data. This evolutionary progress, still in the works that qualify for the real web, in order to ratchet up to 3.0? If, indeed, which means "Web 2.0", too? Because no one called the first iteration of the information superhighway, "version 1"? The most directpossible, here is an appropriate description of what the version numbers attached to the Web is "really for:

Web 1.0: At the beginning sounds (like the beginning of another famous fairy tale), was AOL, Geocities and Hotmail. The beginning was all read-only content, static HTML pages and navigation of such a "link Listers" like Yahoo.

Web 2.0: How mature technologies - and people - user-generated content and "read-write" interactivity appeared on the scene. Were notPeople as consumers. Ordinary (non-IT), people started to contribute their energy, information and ideas on blogs and sites like Flickr, YouTube, Digg and space "social networking". The line of demarcation between consumers and content publishers continued to grow as Web 2.0 crept a way for the next revision.

) Web 3.0: If in a manner consistent with the most publicized dreams and visions ( "plans and strategies," if you prefer to make the Web 3.0Semantic Web. Clarity and usefulness would have the data for meaning, which is adapted to personalize a la iGoogle, intelligent search, as never before thought and "behavioral advertising", for individual consumers.

Same data, different goals

Certainly, the term "Web 2.0" which never has any kind of critical mass outside the tech-savvy demographic, but apparently, at least, over time a stable definition. We call it a priority to ensureThe interactivity and interoperability between two or more applications, as well as people using the Custom Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), widgets, and even some social activities such as tagging. If "Web 2.0" was the first time the "digital dictionary", many thought that it was unnecessary and, indeed, raged and railed against the use.

Today is "Web 2.0", a term the industry-standard, if not universally understood, and its history suggests that "Web 3.0" has at least a good opportunityThe adoption - as a word, though. As a technology, environment, tools or door "virtual reality", is the Web 3.0 to grow to the extent that we get smarter technology and content, individually and collectively. Adding importance to the data with the Semantic Web and microformats, and adding questions Smarts means better support for people in the way of natural language search, semantic search, the decision of the agents recommendation 'process wizards and so on.

It is a journey, not aTarget

Apart from the fact that people like to label things that probably will not bother with the version numbers for what is essentially a graphical Internet. There's always going to develop, but if we call it at least something "Web 3.0" is easier (and intimidating) as a "Semantic Web" for most people. As you will always be people who know very well how it works and where it is directed, and others, knows that a little 'tooI know nothing. 'S is always the case, as they say.

Web 2.0 (2.6) and the first step towards the Semantic Web to check the World Wide Web in a collaborative exchange of knowledge, is the recent case of Gouldian "punctuated equilibrium", the new web of social measures. Social networking has had a vast social implications far beyond the screens, keyboards and browsers. The Semantic Web, Web to stay closer to their final destination of the machine-man "understanding"and better interaction. Web development continues without a central authority to organize, plan, or time limit, which is a good thing. Wherever we stand and say: "Now we are at 3.0, is still only a milestone on the road, as web-development interrupted or not, will always be a journey, not a destination.

Tips on Social Media For Blogging

Social medias like del.icio.us, StumbleUpon and Digg are capable of luring in huge amount of traffic in a short period of time. However, with the rising numbers of blogs and sites, these social medias users seem too little around the internet. Too many blogs to visit, too little time.

As I am a college student, I hardly have any time to post and optimize myself up to become the "top users" to acquire attentions. If you are like me, I believe you will hardly have any time - especially those who have child to take care of or maybe a day-time 9 to 5 job.Thinking of it...What you saying is that these traffic from social media is not valuable? - But...

Nope. I believed anything that drives traffic to your site or blog are valuable. Eventually, social medias help you to increase your reader size - including your blog subscriber.

Bookmarks like del.icio.us enable readers to return on your blog for more.

Social medias also help you to launch new linkbait - which I think is pretty effective.

I know you are a busy person - but let me teach you some of my tips :

StumbleUpon is by far the best and most effective social medias that I've used of all. With a little effort (almost none), you can get truckloads of free traffic to your blog - almost instantly!

You don't need to make friends there or join thousands of different communities to promote your articles. All you need is a good quality contents with proper headline.

Once you blog posts are stumbled, you will be surprised on how it will snowball more traffic - and some people even claimed it to be VIRAL!

To easiest way is to sign up with StumbleUpon, get their link code, paste in in each of your post (or you can post in post section in single php. if you are using WordPress) to ease your readers to stumble it.

*I highly recommend my readers to use ShareIt Plugins which you can download from various websites. Even Darren Rowse of Problogger used it.

If you have some time,

I recommend you try less "major" social medias like Sphinn, DZone and Furl. These social medias might not be driving you thousands of traffic or helping you higher in Google's ranks, but bear in mind these minor social medias can brings you to the big pages of major social medias.

For example, let say I have this post that is pretty awesome and people from Sphinn loved it. The Sphinn users think I'm great and decided to bookmark me on del.icio.us. Thus, I will appear on front page of del.icio.us' lists.

SMO - What the heck?

I know you have heard of SEO which stands for search engine optimization. So, I made one up for social media optimization. SMO!

Here are some tips:

- Place your bookmarking icons or links that your readers would most likely see - preferably at the end of the post and before the comments.

-Never stuff too many icons of different social medias. Your readers might get confuse and just click away. I used ShareIt which is most efficient, simple and can I say...elegant?

How To Unleash The Power Of SEO

The lifeblood of any website is to be "found" by web users everywhere. Most Internet users find sites through search engines, whether it be Google, Yahoo, MSN or any other. So how does a website achieve high rankings on these search engines? The first step is to unleash the power of search engine optimization (SEO).

The first step is to optimize your site with unique keywords, write good fresh content, and create lasting SEO copy. In order for a search engine to find your site, you need to develop clear and relevant keywords that users will search. Do some research and discover how people are finding your site. Check the number of searches for particular keywords in the last month, six months and year. You can get help by using tools like WordTracker. Good keywords can increase your site's ranking.

Once you have several keywords, use one or two of them in your content, copy and off-pages. Write interesting, newsworthy articles that appeal to your target market. If you have good content, people will find you, but do not rely on search engines alone. SEO and search engine marketing (SEM) go hand-in-hand. If you really want your homepage found use off-pages such as article directories, Digg, Del.ic.ious, StumbleUpon, and blogs for your content. SEM allows you to create more links to your homepage, which means more searchable material for your site. You must keep writing at least once a week and promote your article with SEM. Do not expect an influx of traffic because you wrote one really good article. Granted, one article can produce a lot of traffic but you need to keep your content fresh. Add and edit your articles on a regular basis.

A common marketing mistake is to create a fancy website that has a lot of graphics, maybe some flash and other distracting items. This will not keep viewers for very long. Content is vital, graphics are not. Your site design should have a branded look and should be easy to navigate. Do not hide your navigation buttons or move them from top to bottom, left to right. Pick a place and keep them there. Also, put searchable links to your site. Select relevant and healthy links to use to increase your site's equity. The more searchable links you have, the higher SE spiders will rank your page and the more likely other businesses will reciprocate, putting your link on their sites.

Finally, know what you want your SEO to do for you. SEO is meant to drive traffic to your site in the hopes that those visitors will become buyers. However, understanding that there is no SEO rank guarantee is vital to the health of your website and your budget. If your SEO expert promised to get your site to the top of a ranking list in one week, you bought a scam. Maintaining a high rank is like being a star athlete, you need to keep training and working hard to be the best and defend your championship. This means that SEO is not just a one stop shop. It is the train that drives traffic, but not the tracks. If you want your business to keep moving forward, you need to continue building tracks for it to run.

Social Marketing Principle - Value Before Return

Learning the skills of social marketing is an important tool in your network marketing business. When you work for someone else, much of that is done for you. However, when you have your own network marketing business or any home based business for that matter, the challenge of meeting those social marketing needs will be all yours. Building your business with social marketing is more than just learning how to deal with people. It is a process of learning to offer value before expecting something in return.

Until recently, a traditional network marketing business was built by following leads, finding prospects, cold calling, doing follow up visits and pretty much anything else your upline suggested. Most home businesses are built much the same. For your business to succeed you need to have a source of contacts. Finding that source is extremely time consuming.

Unfortunately, even if you do everything right - even if you invest hours upon hours promoting your business, your prospects are probably half-hearted at best. The average person can - with a click - access information that includes the negative as well as the positive. Much of this information is opinion based and not necessarily reliable - making it even more difficult to reach your target audience. Like everything else, technology is pushing for a change in how you build your business.

Now, I'm not saying the old business model doesn't work anymore - because I know people who are still doing just fine with it. I'm saying that time is at a premium in today's world. Have you noticed that families are noticeably busier than they were, say - even 20 years ago? There is so much competition in every area of family life that the average family simply doesn't have any time left. They do, however, still need that extra income.

The most common option is still - to set up a home based business. With no travel time, they have the distinct advantage of being able to stay home where they can invest a few hours here and there. But, those few hours rarely show enough profit to make a difference. And who wants to add yet one more thing to an already packed schedule with little to show for it?

Ideally, they need a way to leverage their time by setting up a business using Social Marketing. I first learned about Social Marketing when I enrolled in Renegade University where I began learning about things like blogs, articles, journals, video, bookmarking and social sites. Another thing that was impressed upon us over and over again was this statement: Offer value first - before expecting anything in return.

I drove by a flower market on the way home today. On the large billboard outside, they announced the random name of one person from our community. Every week there is a new name drawn. That person only needed to stop by the store to receive a free dozen roses: no purchase, no entry, no strings attached. What a marketing plan! Give value before expecting anything in return. Do you think any of those people ever return to purchase flowers?

My husband has a piano business. Many times he has offered valuable information to someone looking to purchase a piano or offered his expert opinion on whether or not to fix or restore a piano. Do they always return to buy from him? Not always. But, he knows that he has offered them honest value up front. They are then free to consider the information and draw their own conclusions. Again: value before return.

That is the principle taught at Renegade University. Always offer value before expecting anything in return. Building your business on the internet with Social Marketing offers so much more than just business tools. It will teach you to offer what people want - and how they want it.

8 Tools That Every Social Media Writer Needs to Bookmark NOW

1. TweetDeck - TweetDeck allows you to pull up several Twitter search columns and search for several different phrases at once. If you're a social media writer, you already understand the importance of Twitter for business marketing- this handy tool allows you to keep up with the entire Twitterverse from just one platform.

2. Google News - I used to search for collaboration news (as I work for a collaboration software company) by typing "Collaboration software" into the Google homepage. Bad idea. My results included advertisements, spam sites and any webpage that ever mentioned the phrase. Now, I use Google News each morning to check up on NEWS that's important to me, and let Google do the spam and irrelevant search result filtering FOR me.

3. Facebook- Facebook recently reached its 300 million active members mark, there are currently 65 million Facebook users accessing the social platform from their mobile devices and more than 8 billion minutes are spent on Facebook worldwide each day. Need I say more? Facebook. Use it.

4. Blog - Blogging has evolved into a crucial corporate tool, as good company blogs keep customers or readers informed, updated and loyal to your business.

5. Digg- Digg brings the top breaking news of the web to you, so you don't have to scour the Internet for hours on end, searching for interesting articles/sites relevant to your company. You can also publish your own articles to Digg! It is called the "Digg Effect" - write an informative and engaging article, Digg it and watch it go viral!

6. Delicious- At first I was skeptical about the importance of social bookmarking. Although it's used by many for social networking, I simply find Delicious useful in bookmarking the sites which I find relevant to my company's industry. Unlike bookmarking onto Firefox or Internet Explorer, you can access your Delicious bookmarks from any web browser, on any computer.

7. Google Analytics - Google Analytics will let you see who is following your website or blog, what pages they are viewing the most and how long they are spending on your site each time they visit. This proves useful in evaluating your articles and deciding whether or not you are effectively engaging readers' interests.

8. A Good Collaboration Solution- I'll throw in a plug here. As a social media writer, it's imperative to stay organized and on top of things. I'm sure you've felt overwhelmed by the numerous web tools, social media sites and applications you need to log into each day. Using a collaboration software lets you condense all your important documents, articles, logins, bookmarks, projects and social media marketing campaigns into one online workspace. Don't opt for just any free online tool, however- good collaboration tools should be intuitive, professional and affordable.

If you haven't been doing so already as you read the article, bookmark each of these sites into your Delicious Bookmarks Folder or Firefox Toolbar now! And bookmark this article while you're at it- you never know when you might need to share these tips with your coworkers or friends.

Make Money Being Online With Social Bookmarking - Driving Traffic

Make money being online by directing relevant traffic to your website. One very good way of driving traffic to your websites is through social bookmarking. Many people do not realise just how effective social bookmarking can be, which is why it is a very underused method of traffic generation. A few popular social bookmarking sites are: Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Delicious, Propellar, and there are many more sites that you can use for bookmarking websites. Social bookmarking is used for sharing websites that you like with your friends and with everyone else online. It basically helps people to find websites that they may be interested in.

Social bookmarking sites are also great for finding some more sites that contain the content that you are looking for. This is why bookmarking sites can be great for gaining more traffic to your website and getting you a better ranking. But how do those sites get you a better ranking? Google rank websites in order of how important they appear to be and how relevant the websites are to their keywords. When your websites get bookmarked on those social bookmarking websites it increases your websites value.

When your website is bookmarked it shows the search engines how relevant your website is and also shows that other people also recommend it as relevant. Make sure, before using the social bookmarking websites, that you learn the rules of each of those sites so that you do everything correctly and don't cause any problems. One of the reasons why it is important that you know the rules is so you do not get banned from the sites. To avoid getting banned do not spam or break the rules.

Make sure you use eye catching headlines (but no spam remember!) and add direct links to the web page you are marketing. Once you have learned how do this you will realise how effective it can be to help you make money being online on your computer.
